A Merry Christmas!

The old holiday song calls it “the most wonderful time of the year” but the Christmas season can be extremely difficult for children in care. They long to spend time with their families or feel sad about the holiday traditions they never had the chance to experience.  From cookie baking competitions, tree decorating and holiday parties, we do our best to make the month of December one to remember each year at HOC. Though we teach our young men that Christmas is not about receiving tons of gifts, we’re always extremely grateful to those who make contributions to them.

This was my first Christmas at HOC and I didn’t know what to expect. I was shocked staff paid attention to everything we wanted and needed. We got so many cool donations too. I miss my family, but I’m really thankful for this place I get to call home.      – 16 Year Old Resident

In addition to the personalized gifts from HOC, this year our teens received awesome donations from the following:

Banana Republic

Baked Expressions – Renea Feagin

Amy Beaird

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Grandview
