We’d like to take a moment to honor Opal Zucca. Though we never had the opportunity to meet Opal, we are inspired by her generosity and dedication to providing a nurturing home for children in foster care.
During her lifetime, Opal and her husband Herb took in almost 500 foster children. When her family knew she was nearing the end of her life, they began searching for organizations who serve children in care just as Mrs. Opal had. They were referred to House of Compassion by mentor Ron Kirkhom and decided to contribute to our home in her honor.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggested sending donations to HOC. Over the last few months, we’ve received an out pour of support for our youth and have had the opportunity to hear stories about Opal through her loved ones.
Thank you to the Zucca family and to those Opal touched along the way.
